I recently had a pixie haircut hence the need for a hair styling product to hold the shape in place. As some of you may know, I'm using natural beauty products only, so I thought I would give the Rahua Cream Wax a try.
Ingredients (as listed on Rahua's website): Aqua, Glyceryl Stearate, Rincinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Ungurahua oil (Oenocarpus batua), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Saccharum Officinarum (Molasses) Extract, Bursera Graveolens (Palo Santo) Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Potassium Sorbate (plate derived), Citric Acid, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Glycine. [*denotes organic ingredient] All natural, so far so good. First impression When I first opened the tub, I was surprised to find that the product looked like a cream. (In hindsight, I'm not sure why I was surprised given the name of the product!) The product is pretty much scent free, which I think is a good thing, as perfume is quite a personal thing, and I don't really like having multiple scents in products interfering with the perfume I use. Does it work? The label says "versatile hair styler for medium hold". I think that is quite an apt description. The cream does have the the consistency of a cream when you put it on your hand. However, once I apply it to my hair, I find that's when it hardens to feel and work like a wax. It is not sticky or greasy, and I find that a small amount actually goes a long way. The Rahua Cream Wax does give me a medium hold. I don't think it is necessarily going to work for gravity defying hair styling, but it does give me sufficient hold to last the day. I have really thick hair and it still works, so I think it would work equally well (if not better) with fine hair. In Australia, you can get the Rahua Cream Wax from Sephora as well as here and here and here.
